In the end of 2006, I applied for a PhD fellowship hosted jointly by a two fine universities (one in Berlin and one in Copenhagen). The application was accepted. However, I had to cancel the project as the timing was extremely bad (I had just signed a contract with Ripplr).
For anyone interested in the convergence of art and organisation, I have provided an edited version of the application. It poses three important questions for anyone aiming to develop this field further. As my calendar is booked for at least the next year, I’ve decided to let it all ‘stick out’ here.
The questions point to the following research themes:
1. Art, institution, and the media: The challenged state of the traditional art institution2. Economy vs. value: Is conversion possible?
3. Art vs. ethics: Art as the universal solution
